nyquil and ibuprofren

or ibuprofen? who knows..who even reads the bottle anyway when they feel like their head might collapse in on itself if they don't down some kind of pill?

i've noticed that if i'm sick and listening to either a) sigur ros' () album or b) the innocence mission, i feel like crying. is that weird?

i think your body is at such a weak state when you're sick-even if you're on medication-that the normal defenses against showing emotion(especially for guys) just wear down.

not that i actually cried or anything.

although it reminds me of the time in los angeles this past summer, after we were in that crazy car wreck. after the wreck, we'd had someone pick us up and take us the rest of the way to the 4th of july celebrations. after the celebrations, we were getting a ride back to my friends' house, when my friend(the guy who owned the now totalled jeep) looked over at me in the back seat with a weird, half-amused, half-smile on his face.

Jon: I feel like crying right now. Is that weird?

In other news, just bought a Phoenix live album, and Over the Rhine's Drunkard's Prayer. Haven't listened to either yet. Thoughts from anyone who has these albums?

puffy cheeks

no pictures yet. not sure if there ever will be any. i've noticed something about myself. that is, when i get my wisdom teeth taken out, i get angry and mean.

but i also get to eat all the jello and pudding that i want.

in other news, check out The Cubs.
mr. andrew parker, AKA the Andrew from my links, is the drummer, and i play bass. the recordings are home studio demo quality, as we just needed something to hand around to different venues in athens.

the four loves

Need-love cries to God from our poverty; Gift-love longs to serve, or even to suffer for, God; Appreciative love says: "We give thanks to thee for thy great glory." Need-love says of a woman "I cannot live without her"; Gift-love longs to give her happiness, comfort, protection-if possible, wealth; Appreciative love gazes and holds its breath and is silent, rejoices that such a wonder should exist even if not for him, will not be wholly dejected by losing her, would rather have it so than never to have seen her at all.

What a stud. I guess this is why C.S. Lewis is arguably the most popular Christian author ever.

Next to Joel Osteen.
